The DestinyMatches team (building a startup team) decided to do something fun and outgoing with the brand new shirts that were printed. Patrick and Valerie were in charge of planning and producing the end result. They gathered a few close friends, got a small studio and some pizza to get it done! We had a lot of fun even if it was everyones first time doing a shoot. Great support from everyone and we have to thank them all for the amazing job that they did. *Also, remember that this is all between friends so please ignore the swearing or badmouthing….that’s how close we are!*

In our eight episode of BuildingAStartup.com we are on our way to our first interview, ever! Brent Barrett is working on a project called StartupStreet.tv which will showcase local Montreal Startup companies to understand what goes on behind the scenes of starting a company from scratch. It went very well and we gained a lot of experience from it. We also want to launch a Facebook contest and we need everyones ideas to come up with something fun and interesting.

To view our interview, go on StartupStreet.tv and look for episode 1.

Our DestinyMatches logo was the main focus of this episode. We need something that will be brandable and get known right away. We understood that we can’t settle with something OKAY and need something amazing. So we took matters into our own hands and went to get it done no matter what, 8 hours later we came out with our final logo. One thing to learn, never to settle, if your not “feeling it” or don’t love it right away, get some more work done on it until you can’t stop looking at it!

Flow Ventures organised and hosted a poker tournament for local entrepreneurs and for a good cause, to send a lucky person to web events in Silicon Valley. This is a great idea and it is also extremely enjoyable! Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. We honestly can’t wait for the next one!

When I saw this video, I knew I had to post it on my blog. It has amazing effects and the whole idea of it just brings me back to my childhood. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

In this fifth episode of Building a Startup, we actually made it all the way to New York City! Patrick went to visit and experience the lifestyle in Manhattan which was a wonderful experience. It seems to be a great place to launch and grow a business since everything and everyone (investors) are very close. We also had a brief talk with our friend Taryn and she could possibly give us some legal advice in the near future. New York was a great experience and we can’t wait to return for potential business opportunities.
